Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) Training
Introduction
- The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) is a global market-based measure (MBM) developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to address carbon emissions from international aviation. Adopted in 2016, CORSIA is a key component of ICAO's environmental strategy and aligns with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
- CORSIA aims to stabilize CO₂ emissions at 2020 levels by requiring airlines to offset growth in emissions from international flights. It represents ICAO’s commitment to mitigating aviation’s environmental impact and contributing to global climate goals.
