Airport Power Supply System
Introduction
To provide participants the ability to assess and create reliable airport power supply infrastructures, including main and backup systems, that are suited to supporting vital aviation facilities and operating requirements.
Objectives
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Understand the Fundamentals of Airport Electrical Systems.
- Explain the architecture, components, and operational principles of airport power supply systems, including both primary and backup sources.
- Assess the electrical load profiles for various airport systems such as lighting, navigation aids, HVAC, baggage handling, terminal operations, and airside equipment.
- Describe different sources of power (utility, generators, UPS, renewable energy) and distribution systems used in airports, including high-voltage and low-voltage networks.
- Renewable energy sources like solar in airport power systems to reduce carbon footprint.
