ICAO Advanced Aeronautical Cartography (STP)
Introduction
- The course aims to provide the Aeronautical Cartography Specialists with competences required to develop all types of Aeronautical Charts effectively and efficiently in accordance with ICAO Annex 4 - Aeronautical Charts, 11th Edition, July 2009; ICAO Aeronautical Chart Manual, Doc. 8697, Third Edition, 2016, ECAR 31.1, 2024.
Objectives
After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Acquire the relevant concept of the modern Air Navigation Satellite Systems
- Identify the digital data sources used in the chart’s productions
- Produce all types of local AIP charts using drawing tools
- Apply quality assurance procedures on the production Aeronautical Charts

Course Content
- Module 0: Introduction
- Module 1: Digital data sources used in the chart production

Prerequisite
- Having a university degree in civil engineering or Geography.
- Having at least 2 years’ experience in the field of AIS
- Attended the Basic Aeronautical Cartography Course
- Aware of chart drawing tools
