Introduction

Objectives

By the end of this course the trainees should be able to:


A. Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA)

1  Understand the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach and its effective implementation in Dangerous Goods training.

2 Explain the rationale and benefits of transitioning from prescriptive to competency-based dangerous goods training.

3 Define and differentiate the core CBTA concepts: Competency, Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA), and Performance Criteria.

4 Describe the relationship between CBTA and the overall Safety Management System (SMS).

5 Conduct DG Training Program Assessment and evaluation regarding Service Providers (DG Training).

6 Determine whether a CBTA program meets the requirements for State approval.

7 Evaluate the operator's process for the continuous evaluation and improvement of their training program (the 'E' in ADDIE).
