
Airspace Management and Analysis
Introduction
The purpose of this training course is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Performancebased
Navigation (PBN) concepts and their practical application in the effective planning and design of PBN airspace,
in accordance with ICAO's Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). This course will equip participants with
the knowledge and skills necessary to develop strategies for designing various airspace structures, understand the
principles and concepts of PBN in airspace design, and recognize the essential elements of the ICAO Global Air
Navigation Plan (GANP) for Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems.
Objectives
Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Understanding ICAO's plan and related systems.
- Understanding principles, specifications, and benefits of PBN.
- Designing structures with PBN, considering various factors and FUA.
- Comparing conventional and RNAV, and designing PBN approaches.
- Designing and integrating PBN departures/arrivals, and addressing environmental impacts.
- Understanding ATC criteria, ATFM, and civil/military operations.
- Considering various operations (commercial, general, UAVs) and ATM initiatives.
