Communication Navigation Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM)
Introduction
- CNS is routinely mentioned in the same breath as ATM. Air Traffic Management (ATM) is enabled and facilitated by technologies that fall within the categories of Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS). In Understanding CNS, we will explore each of the categories and speak to the modern technologies contained therein. We will also discuss how they can be used singly, or in combinations, to enable and improve flight operations using ATM and airspace user lenses.
