
Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP)
Introduction
- It gives them basic knowledge of operational and technical aspects of ATM and prepares them for the Shared course and qualification courses, which are the next steps to becoming an ATSEP.
Objectives
- Understand the regulatory Framework related to ATSEP
- Be able to measure ATSEP Performance
- Understand and Explain the organization of Aeronautical Information Service (AIS)
- Explain ATSEP System Monitoring & Control (SMC)
- Be able to explain the role of ATC in the Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment.
- Understand the role of meteorology and meteorological information in ATM related to aircraft and ATS operations.
- Awareness of principles used in Voice & Data Communications and navigation aids
- Awareness of the principles used in Primary Radar, Secondary Radar and other Surveillance systems and the integration within ATM operations
- Understand the requirements for general maintenance activities

Prerequisite
Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering Diploma, Engineering Degree or equivalent, intending ATSEPs with minimum of 1600Hrs experience in electronics and ATSEPs with pre-requisite qualifications or experience in Air Traffic Safety Electronics Services operational safety related tasks.
