Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation in Abu Dhabi
Introduction
This course is taught using a variety of Instructional Methods including Lecture, Class Discussion, Role-plays, Case Studies, Demonstrations, Audio Visuals and Small Group work.
Objectives
After successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate familiarization with the responsibilities of the States involved.
- Identify the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) adopted by ICAO and its Contracting States.
- Identify the accident notification systems and the appropriate responses.
- Identify the role of the investigator, the skills he will need to acquire, and the accident investigation process.
- Demonstrate familiarization with the investigators’ personal equipment and protective clothing.
- Understand the considerations that should be taken into account at the accident site
- Identify the methods of gathering and reviewing relevant documentation and procedures.
- Describe Communication and recording media.
- Demonstrate familiarization with the Witness interviews.
- Learn the examination of relevant maintenance documents.
- Understand the importance of Organizational and management information.
- Define and recognize the Human Factors issues involved.
- Describe methods of analyzing the factual information gathered.
- Write reports and take responsibility of an accident investigator.
- Deal with the news media and public relations.
