Dangerous Goods Regulations Training (DGR)


Introduction

Objectives

By the end of this course the trainees should be able to:

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods
  • Interpret hazard communication
  • Detect hidden dangerous goods in cargo and mail
  • Learn to check documentation and packages for indications of undeclared dangerous goods
  • Explain the basic Emergency Response procedures


Final Assessment (theoretical/practical)

a)   Quizzes and task observation

b)   Assessment

          i.   Simulation including documentation

         ii.   Job shadowing for 2 weeks with peer reports. A list of tasks to be carried out with a checklist to verify that the tasks have been carried out satisfactorily

Theoretical Examination at the end of the course.

  • Module 01: Scope and Applicability (including overview of DG regulatory requirements)
  • Module 02: Limitation of Dangerous Goods on Aircraft
  • Module 03: Dangerous Goods Classification
  • Module 04: Marking & Labelling
  • Module 05: Dangerous Goods Documentation
  • Module 06: Emergency Response Procedures

Prerequisite

  • Successfully completed Basic Cargo Skills & Procedures Course
  • Mastering English Language
  • University diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations is preferred
