Gas Turbine Engines Training
Introduction
- This course is designed to provide the candidates with basic knowledge and skills on Gas Turbine Engine fundamentals, construction, operation and performance. Gas Turbine Engine lay-out, operation and functioning of engine systems, safety procedures, monitoring systems, ground operations, thrust augmentation systems, and standard servicing practices.
Objectives
At the end of course, trainees will Be able to:
- Explain the basic principles of aircraft propulsion
- Describe the construction, configuration and principles of operation of gas generator components
- Recognize different parameters affecting the performance of a gas turbine.
- Describe the function and principle of operation of intakes, exhausts, propelling nozzles and thrust augmentation systems.
- Explain the operation of a gas turbine starting and ignition system
- Describe the lay-out and operation of gas turbine fuel systems as well as the lay out and functioning of FADEC
- Explain the engine cooling system.
- Describe gas turbine speed, exhaust gas temperature and oil pressure/temperature indicators.
- Explain the operation of a typical auxiliary power unit
- Describe engine monitoring systems, and engine ground run-up procedure.
- Apply the Preservation and de-preservation procedures for the engine and accessories / systems.
